Never heard of Relay? The Relay For Life is a non-competitive overnight event that will be held at Moss Wright Park in June. Teams are recruited from businesses, clubs, families, friends, hospitals, churches, schools and service organizations. Each group chooses a team theme, and members take turns walking or running around a track during the night. Games and activities held during the event make it a festive occasion as does the annual silent and live auction.
Relay For Life is the largest cancer fund raiser in the nation. Held in more than 4,580 communities nationwide last year, the event brings participants together to raise money for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient support programs.
The 2007 Relay For Life in Goodlettsville was a successful event, raising an unprecedented amount of $100,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Everyone is invited to learn more about Relay For Life at the kick off on February 29th at the Holiday Inn Express on Cartwright Street just off of Long Hollow Parkway. The rally will run from 6-8 p.m..
